About Marlene

Expertise grounded in decades of clinical practice.

I am a psychologist in private practice with over 40 years of experience specializing in the assessment and diagnosis of Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and Anxiety Disorder. My clients range from Kindergarten through post-University age.

I hold a B.A. and M.Ed. from McGill University, where I also served as an Assistant Professor in Educational Psychology for 10 years. I have worked as an Educational Psychologist at Concordia University, and as an Educational Consultant on the Montreal Children's Hospital's multimodal ADHD research team.

My colleague is a fluently bilingual psychologist who conducts assessments in both English and French. As OPQ members, our assessments are covered by private insurance plans.

Areas of Specialization

Understanding the full picture of how you think.

Each assessment is comprehensive, individualized, and designed to give you clear answers and a practical path forward. Assessments span from Kindergarten to post-University, including adult evaluations.

01

Learning Disabilities

LDs affect how a person processes verbal and non-verbal information, making reading, writing, and mathematics a significant challenge. A formal assessment identifies your individual pattern of strengths and difficulties, unlocking targeted accommodations and strategies that can be applied throughout the lifespan.

02

ADHD Assessment

ADHD is a neurobiological condition that typically emerges in early childhood and intensifies during key transitions — starting high school, university, or a new career. Assessment covers all three clinical presentations: Inattentive, Hyperactive/Impulsive, and Combined, across all age groups.

03

Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety often appears alongside learning difficulties or on its own — manifesting as performance anxiety, fear of failure, panic, or chronic worry that compounds academic and professional challenges. Assessment determines whether difficulties stem from attention, anxiety, or both, and informs appropriate treatment and accommodation recommendations.

How It Works

A clear, structured process.

Each assessment is shaped around you. Your history, your challenges, and your goals guide every step of the process — ensuring the evaluation is as individual as you are.

01

Initial Consultation

A structured intake session to review history, presenting concerns, prior assessments, and goals. This shapes the scope and approach of the evaluation.

02

Evaluation Sessions

Standardized testing across cognitive, academic, attentional, and emotional domains. Sessions are paced appropriately for the client's age and stamina.

03

Comprehensive Report

A detailed and comprehensive written report integrating all findings, clinical observations, diagnostic impressions, and tailored recommendations for school, university, or work settings.

04

Feedback, Accommodations and Recommendations

A dedicated meeting to review results together, answer all questions, and discuss next steps including referrals, accommodations, and personalized recommendations.

Yes. As certified members of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ), assessments are reimbursable through private group insurance plans.

Not at all. Many adults seek assessment after years of undiagnosed difficulties — often during major social issues or life transitions such as a career change or graduate school. A formal diagnosis at any age provides clarity, validates lived experience, and qualifies you for workplace or academic accommodations under human rights legislation.
A feedback session is provided to review results together, answer questions, and discuss referrals, accommodations, and personalized next steps. You also receive a comprehensive written report outlining findings, diagnostic impressions, and tailored recommendations.
A formal psycho-educational assessment unlocks access to academic accommodations such as extended exam time, assistive technology, and specialized support strategies. For adults, it may also support workplace accommodation requests recognized under human rights legislation.
